The 9 Best OLIPOP Flavors, Tasted and Ranked (2024)

I’m always on the lookout for new ways to make sure I’m keeping my gut health in check, but I also love soda. So when I heard about OLIPOP, a probiotic beverage made with prebiotics and sparkling water, I knew it was something special.

You’ve probably heard of probiotics before, but what are they? They’re the “good” bacteria that help keep your gut healthy—and when your gut is healthy, you’ll be able to absorb more nutrients from other foods. It’s a win-win situation!

OLIPOP is a probiotic soda. That means it has prebiotics, which are food for the good bacteria that live in your gut. They help those good bacteria thrive!

They call it Sparkling Tonic because they’re trying to make an old-fashioned product into something new and exciting.

When I opened the bottle of OLIPOP for the first time, I was surprised by how much it smelled like regular soda. It wasn’t as fizzy as regular soda, but enough so that you could tell there were bubbles in the liquid without having them burst all over your face.

This product is perfect for anyone who wants to stay healthy while still enjoying a delicious drink! It comes in 9 flavors, so there’s something for everyone. But which one is the best?

We sampled all 9 flavors of OLIPOP—from their original Classic Root Beer to the new Tropical Punch—and put them up against each other in a series of blind taste tests. Here are their rankings:

9. Classic Grape

I’m not a huge fan of grape soda, but I do love grape juice. So when I first tried OLIPOP’s Classic Grape flavor, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

The flavor was ok—not the most exciting or delicious thing I’ve ever tasted, but it wasn’t bad either. It reminded me of Grape Jolly Ranchers or a classic kids’ drink that my mom used to give me when I was little.

I think the biggest thing that made this taste different than other sodas was that it didn’t have a synthetic grape taste; instead, there was an almost fruity sweetness that made it feel more like juice than soda.

This isn’t my favorite flavor by any means, but if you’re looking for something light and refreshing that doesn’t taste artificial, this is definitely one to try!

8. Tropical Punch

It’s definitely not your standard tropical punch flavor—the pineapple really comes out in the drink, which is one of my favorite things about it. The passion fruit and mandarin are also very present in the drink, but you don’t get much of an apple or mandarin orange taste at all.

It’s not overly sweet either—you can definitely taste the sugar content in there, but it doesn’t overpower the rest of the flavors as some other sodas do.

If you’re looking for a nostalgic drink that reminds you of your childhood summers spent at the beach? This is definitely the soda for you. But if you’re looking for something more than just nostalgia? You’ll want to look at other flavors.

7. Classic Root Beer

I’m a sucker for root beer, and I’ve had a lot of it in my time. But this one is by far my favorite! It has the perfect blend of sweet birch, smooth vanilla bean, and naturally sourced burdock root. It’s nostalgic without being overly sweet or artificial tasting at all.

I love that it has a creamy sweetness that lingers on your tongue—it makes you feel like you’re drinking something decadent while still quenching your thirst. Your gut will love it too!

Each can only contain 2 grams of sugar, which is significantly less than most soft drinks.

It’s got that nostalgic taste that makes you feel like you’re back in time. My only complaint is that it’s expensive—but if you’re willing to spend a little extra for something good for you, then this is definitely worth it!

6. Cherry Vanilla

I have to admit, I was skeptical about this flavor when I first heard about it. I’ve never been a huge fan of cherry flavors, but this one is really good.

The mixture of tangy morello cherries and sweet, juicy rainier cherries is just incredible. It tastes like cherry juice—and then there’s the vanilla bean taste that comes through at the end. It’s like eating a cherry pie without all the calories!

The bubbles are pretty minimal when you drink it, so don’t expect any foam (though there’s some fizz). But I don’t mind that because I know there aren’t any artificial flavors or chemicals in this one! There is no stevia aftertaste at all either, which I appreciate in a drink like this.

If you’re looking for something to quench your thirst on a hot day or if you’re trying to be conscious about what you eat during the summer months, then this is definitely the drink for you.

The only thing that would make it better? If it was cheaper!

5. Orange Squeeze

I love the way this flavor tastes. It reminds me of a light orange cream soda, but without all the calories and carbonation. The first time I tried it, I was skeptical because it’s not as sweet as other flavors, but now I’m hooked. It’s got just a bit of a sour taste that makes it unique and refreshing.

It’s a great way to get your daily dose of Vitamin C without adding any calories. The clementine and mandarin juices give this classic a bright twist. I also love that it’s all-natural and has no carbonation whatsoever—I feel like that makes it even more refreshing.

It’s great for quenching your thirst on hot days or after exercising! And if you’re trying to get more fiber in your diet (like me), it’s also a great way to do so because it doesn’t make me feel bloated or make me feel like I’m drinking something that isn’t good for me.

4. Ginger Lemon

It’s a unique twist on the soda. I love ginger and lemon, so I thought it would be a great combination for me. And it was! It combines the Caribbean and European mulling spices, so it has kind of a spicy kick to it at first, but then finishes with a tangy hint of lemon.

I love drinking Ginger Lemon with ice cubes. It has no carbonation at all, so it doesn’t bubble up like regular soda does when you add ice cubes. It just goes down smoothly and quenches my thirst without making me feel as if I’m drinking something that’s too sweet or too bubbly.

This flavor is usually hard to get in stores, but if you see it on the shelf at your local grocery store, definitely give it a try!

3. Orange Cream

Orange Cream is a great choice for anyone looking for a sweet and citrusy drink. The crisp tanginess of tangerine and mandarin citrus combines with creamy vanilla to create a taste that is both tangy and sweet! It’s like an orange creamsicle in sparkling tonic form.

It’s not as bubbly as regular soda, but it tastes really good. The aftertaste is kind of artificial sweetener-y, but that’s something you can get used to pretty quickly.

Overall, I thought this was a good flavor. It has a nice balance between sweet and tangy, which makes it perfect for a treat after dinner or lunch. It’ll quench your thirst while giving your taste buds an excellent treat!

2. Strawberry Vanilla

This is my second favorite flavor on our list, and it’s hard to beat. I’m always drawn to the sweet, but I don’t like anything too sugary or cloying.

This is a great balance of strawberry and vanilla that’s not too sweet. The lemon juice and pink rock salt give it a really fresh taste and it feels really good on my tummy. I think it would be great as a cocktail mixer because it has such a cool flavor profile.

It’s like a modern take on a classic cream soda, but with all the goodness of plant-based ingredients. I love it because it really quenches my thirst and settles my stomach after a big meal.

I’ve seen it at my local Whole Foods, but you can also find it online if you’re looking for something new to try.

1. Vintage Cola

My favorite flavor from the Olipop line is Vintage Cola. I love it because it has the same old-fashioned taste that I remember from when I was a kid, but it also has notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and caramel. It’s perfect for satisfying my cravings for cola without all the sugar and calories.

This is a great alternative to Zevia Cola or other carbonated drinks on the market today. It’s full of fiber and healthy prebiotics, so you can feel good about drinking it! It also contains 50mg of natural caffeine from green tea—great for staying awake during long nights of studying or working!

This flavor is like nostalgia in a bottle—for cola lovers, it will satisfy your cravings. It goes great with big meals or when you’re craving something sweet!
